A Look Back On 2017 | Fort Wayne & Indianapolis Photographer

What a year 2017 was in more ways that I can list. It was an amazing year filled with change, growth, and opportunities I had only dreamed about. I had the privilege of working with so many amazing couples, families, and individuals; who I can't thank enough for making this year one to remember. I loved meeting new people in Fort Wayne, IN, Indianapolis, IN, Chicago, IL, Fairfield, CT and Michigan.

I decided to just share an overview of the year, and I also mixed in some of my editorial work from my new website I launched earlier in the spring www.ruthyaro.com

Cheers to 2017 & excited to see what 2018 will bring.

I couldn't end this post without sharing the about the highlight of the year. I was given an amazing opportunity to freelance for The Wall Street Journal a couple times, and through it I had the pleasure of meeting some of the kindest people.

I've known Maddie since I was a kid, and when I moved back to Fort Wayne we reconnected. Maddie and her husband Mitch are some of the most genuine and caring souls I know. Their little man is so full of personality and he decided we are now besties while I was there. It was a chilly Sunday morning in October, and a perfect day for a slow morning filled with coffee, homemade breakfast sandwiches and lots of coffee.

As I've gotten to know Nate and Whitney a little more, I've learned that they're hilarious, talented, creative, genuine, and some of the kindest souls. Their little man should be making his grand entrance anytime, and he's about to find out he has the coolest parents.

A couple weeks ago I spent some time in their home documenting the last little bits of it being just the two of them and their fur babies.

I enjoy nothing more than when I get to follow around a sweet family and document part of their lives. Candis & Justen are so welcoming, genuine and all around wonderful and their little man is so full of life. Toddlers are such a fun age to photograph, because they get so excited and want to show you every toy they have. It's awesome.

There are so many priceless moments that happen during these types of sessions, and I love when I get to the chance to document those memories for families to look back on.
