A Look Back On 2017 | Fort Wayne & Indianapolis Photographer

What a year 2017 was in more ways that I can list. It was an amazing year filled with change, growth, and opportunities I had only dreamed about. I had the privilege of working with so many amazing couples, families, and individuals; who I can't thank enough for making this year one to remember. I loved meeting new people in Fort Wayne, IN, Indianapolis, IN, Chicago, IL, Fairfield, CT and Michigan.

I decided to just share an overview of the year, and I also mixed in some of my editorial work from my new website I launched earlier in the spring www.ruthyaro.com

Cheers to 2017 & excited to see what 2018 will bring.

I couldn't end this post without sharing the about the highlight of the year. I was given an amazing opportunity to freelance for The Wall Street Journal a couple times, and through it I had the pleasure of meeting some of the kindest people.

Chris + April | Downtown Fort Wayne, IN Lifestyle Photography

Where do I begin with these two? April is an ELL Teacher with FWCS and when I moved back to Fort Wayne, I was her assistant for a year. She is the most vivacious, caring, hilarious person I have met, and I feel quite lucky to call her a friend. Every time I have the pleasure to be around Chris and April, I'm guaranteed to laugh so hard I feel like I better have a six pack. They're such a fantastic couple, and I was so thrilled to photograph them a couple weeks ago. They were so much fun and I'm so excited to share a few of my favorites.

Seriously, you don't need to be engaged to have photos taken with your partner!

Rhys + Rachel | Downtown Fort Wayne, IN Engagement Photography

When I first met with Rhys & Rachel I knew we'd hit it off, not only because they're genuinely hilarious or just themselves , but also because they have corgis ( I just recently became dog parent to a corgi puppy named Fern). They're such a fun couple, and I feel lucky to know them.

We met downtown for their engagement shoot on an overcast spring evening. There was lots of laughing, some dancing and of course taking some photos with their fur babies.
